5 days ago · 3. Issues by engine type 3.1. 1.2L PureTech engine The Citroen C3 Aircross is equipped with the 1.2L PureTech engine, which is known for its fuel efficiency and performance. However, like any engine, it can experience issues over time. One common issue with the 1.2L PureTech engine is related to the timing chain tensioner.
Warranty. There’s nothing particularly special about Citroen’s warranty; it lasts for three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes soonest. That being said, the first two years are not limited
The check engine light lit up on my 2019 Peugeot 308 1.2 Puretech Auto at only 49800km (about 10000km from last service in November 2021 at a Peugeot dealership) and, using my iCarsoft Version 1 scanner, I got the code P15A1: Engine Oil Pressure Lower, Reference Value Not Reached. There were no other errors reported.
Peugeot 308 SW 1.2L Puretech - Peugeot 308 SW 1.2L Puretech Engine Problem -P1032. In June 2019 I bought a second hand, 2016 plate, Peugeot 308 SW estate 1.2L Puretech from British Car Auctions at Frimley. The car was previously owned by Motability from whom I have had some very good reliable cars from in the past and it had just 24000 miles on the clock.
A bitof information from an I dependent Citroen service centre: The Puretech 1.2 engine will be produced in the near future with a chain cambelt. What comedian wrote that? Must be a dolls head from the back office. Why would it be unexpected to make a chain cam version of the engine? I did not suggest it would be unexpected.

The timing belt replacement interval has also been reduced since your vehicle was built / service book printed. Peugeot are currently on generation 4 timing belts for these engines. A 2013 would have had the 1st generation wet timing belt.
The origin of this problem is linked to the rapid degradation of the oil, mainly on vehicles used little (less than 15,000 km) and mostly for urban use. In this context of use, the 1.2 PureTech engine is subject to oil dilution, i.e. fine droplets of unburned fuel flow along the cylinder wall and mix in the lower crankcase.
I once had a 2.9 Granada with a Cologne V6, huge chunk of iron churning out 150bhp and 170 ft lbs of torque. Now I see the new citroen puretech 1.2 3 cylinder with almost as much power, more torque and it fits in your pocket (almost). I remember when the magic Japanese motorcycles arrived in the late 60's, so much power from such small engines
